TOP Textiles Recycling

Established in 2007, and providing a service to 76,000 residents across the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, the Osborne Partnership is rightly proud of its award winning, community focused work project – TOP Textiles Recycling.  Centred around a personalised kerb-side collection service of unwanted clothing and textiles donated via the local community, the Partnership runs a shop called ‘The TOP Shop’ selling good quality recycled clothes and, with the support of specialist recycling companies, operates a highly successful textile processing unit which transforms otherwise unusable materials, destined for landfill, into industrial wipers for use by industry.

Having processed more than 200 tonnes of recycled materials in its first 2 years alone, TOP Textiles has achieved huge increases in the quantities of textiles being recycled in the local area but, more importantly, it provides supported volunteer placements for adults with learning difficulties from the local community, combining work experience with the opportunity to achieve an accredited vocational qualification up to NVQ level (2).

At present we are only collecting in the London borough of Barking and Dagenham, However we would consider large collections outside of the borough so please get in touch.
